ahhh, rob welcome to the forum!...to answer your question, im pretty sure that this might happen......it'll only take a good run off the line, once i take you down you in acceleration, and go through our first turn you'll come up on me a little im sure! holy shit maybe you'll even pass me!!..after wards i won't be able to turn as fast as your car will, so it'll only take a small effort to continue on to even, a small straight to pass you....this will probably go on through out the race until i get better........ it happens all the time in races against bikes and cars, so it comes down to this! if you have any chance at beating me its through the turns..like we always talk about.

ahh but i have driven the glen many times young one. I will take you through every turn except maybe turn 4 depending on how much courage and or talant you have. All said and done I will bet my experiance over your fearlessness.

Hey I will go ahead and argue that a bike can easily kill a car in a turn. When you're comparing RACE cars to bikes, bikes are a LITTLE disadvantaged only having 2 tires for grip instead of four. However, with street cars, a bike, when ridden properly, can easily overtake a car in a turn. The only problem is that it takes a lot more skill to take a turn like that on a bike versus in a car.

thank you jetstream and were not even talking about a race car ether, a bmw e30..... its fast and has a lot of torch for its size! (i have been in it ) but it can't possibly stand a chance against a world record breaking 600cc sport bike that won many awards for racing....from the same year! lets just wait and see!

No doupt the cbr 600 is a kick ass machine but no way in hell you can pull 1.02G on the skidpad. and 72mph in the salom.

Oh and the e30 is one hell of a DTM car with a rich race history.

Hey I'm not doubting the car's greatness or ability, but I'm just saying a bike can beat it if ridden properly. The g-forces pulled aren't really an indicator of handling I don't think at least. I would say take em to the Glen and run em! Also, film it so we can all see.

G force on a 200ft skid pad is the best way to messure handling.

In reality it will be more a race between me and cbr not the bike vs. the car.

I found these specs on an R6 fourm
2005 ZX6R
0-60: 2.9
1/4 10.8 @ 130
braking 60, 80: 146 ft, 267 ft
200ft skid pad: 1.01g
700ft slalom: 112.4mph

If cbr's 600 is anything close to these numbers then i would have to relay on his inexperince to win. The Braking numbers are kind of surprising, I would expect a bike to stop a lot faster then that. those numbers are way worse then my car.

hey bottlecape instead of trying to prove your car is faster or better, why don't you just wait till we race at the glen , if you truly think your car is faster though you should probably do some research and like i say the only thing you have over me is turns in competition.....lets watch this video most of us have seen ! and mabey we should drag race when spring hits, that would be fun then we can see who's faster in acceleration,top speed and who can break faster.

no i totaly agree that your bike is faster then my car, by quite a bit. I however think i'm a good enough driver that i can beat you around the glen.

Well while I have to agree that the skidpad rating does indicate handling a LITTLE, it really isn't a big indicator of how the vehicle will handle on the road. In a skidpad setting, the suspension is loaded up the whole time with no acceleration, no braking, and no bumps or dips in the road. A vehicle's true handling shows in a real world setting because the suspension, tyres, and brakes have to not only handle the lateral loads of turning, but also the longitudinal loads of acceleration and braking, and bumps at the same time.

I don't think the CBR600F2 would really be quite as good as that 05 ZX6R due to it's fuel injection and probably steering damper and inverted front forks, but it would be close. Yeah bikes suck at braking compared to cars cause there is no risk of a car flipping over frontwards, and also as I mentioned before, bikes only have 2 tires to grip the road. I would love to see this race of yours though! Cause you're right, it would be you versus him, not car versus bike!

Great point, that is why you can drive a touring car(race car) on the road as opposed to a smooth track and it handles like crap.
It will be fun to get out on the track together, we always talked about it as kids. We just have to get Ryan in on the fun, however i don't think his Honda will be up to it.

Man I would love to go to that race track with you guys! I have a few over here pretty close, one of which is a world class venue like watkins glen, which is laguna seca. However, I like watkins glen better. It's not as bumpy and it pretty flat in elevation and a well kept place. I am gonna eventually take my bike to Willow Springs Raceway which is like 3 hours from here.

willow springs is a fun track.
Laguna Seca's cork screw is way beyond anything i can master.

yeah that track is retarded hard for me unless im going slow...i have really only tried it a few times.

Hah you guys crack me up. Anyways yeah Laguna Seca is cool. What's really hard is the entrance to the corkscrew, right at the apex of the hill. Your vehicle wants to jump so it looses a lot of traction right in the braking zone.
